Vancouver Charter Dangerous Dog: No Conditional Order Available
Source: 2019 BCCA 401 Santics v. Vancouver (City) Animal Control Officer
The Vancouver Charter has provisions dealing with dangerous dogs. Note that is different than an aggressive dog and also different than the provisions dealing with dogs in the Community Charter.
As it presently stands there is no jurisdiction for the Judge to issue an order other than a destruction order on a finding that a dog is dangerous. If the dog is “dangerous” there is almost no other way to deal with the dog.
