Contempt of WCB Asbestos Abatement Orders: Six Weeks of House Arrest

The employer was found to be in contempt of WCB asbestos abatement orders. The conduct was, let’s say, egregious.
Jail time for civil contempt is not the norm but in serious enough cases it’s a tool for there for the Court to use.

In this case the Court determined that six weeks of house arrest was an appropriate penalty.
